SELF SERVICE

Hire GC to provide streaming media to your audience

IMPORTANT NOTE: We recommend that a professional audio/video team be used to carry out self-serve webcasting. The quality of a webcast is dependent upon the use of professional hardware and experienced technicians. We also suggest that extensive pre-testing be carried out from the same location, using the same equipment, as will be the case with the live event.

Do your own webcasting

Organizations anywhere in the world can use GC to deliver and record webcasts. Broadcast from Europe to North America, Canada to Asia...from and to any place on earth. No special hardware is needed.

Using your affordable GC webcast streaming account, you'll be able to connect a camera and audio to a computer on high speed Internet and start broadcasting. Your webcasts can be free or priced.

RISK FREE START: We recommend that you sign up for a 3-week test account at $100 (limit of 5 viewers) that allows you to test out your hardware and get ready.

What you can do:

You will be able to webcast speeches, lectures, meetings, conferences, workshops and events over the Internet. All of your webcasts will be automatically recorded by our server and you'll have access to all of the recording links. You are given a web code that will place the live and recorded webcasts directly on your web site. Alternatively, if you require add-ons such as a real-time text chat box so the web audience can send in questions and a registration / database system, you will link to our server address to display the interface .

Who is using the GC Self-Serve Option?

This option is being used by major audio/visual companies looking for an affordable means to deliver live and recorded webcasts on behalf of their clients. Also using this service are community radio and TV stations, investment firms, auction houses, business associations, non-profit groups and international organizations that need reliable, affordable streaming.

What you need:

This will depend on what you plan to do with your webcast account. If you're simply going to talk from an office (or webcast audio from a speaker phone), you only need an inexpensive webcam with built-in microphone, laptop and high speed Internet.

However, if you want to webcast your Annual General Meeting, a conference or a workshop from a hotel or some other outside location, you should be using professional video and audio equipment.

Equipment options:

PC laptop or desktop with at least 512 GB memory, firewire or USB port and mic input
Web camera with built-in microphone or pro camcoder with audio input
Tripod for camera
Audio cable (XLR to mini) to connect camera with audio mixer in a hotel room or use an external mic
Firewire or USB cable to connect camera to laptop
Ethernet cable
Webcast software and account (provided by us)
Internet connectivity

Recommendations for room set-up

Good strong lighting where people are speaking such as the podium and/or panel table
Dark draping behind people speaking to avoid back lighting
Microphone needed for everyone speaking, including members of the audience
Audio mixer must provide mic output
5 foot long table for laptop with chair for webcaster
Data port

You can test your account using a simple webcam with built-in microphone. For professional webcasts, we strongly recommend professional video and audio equipment used by experienced operators.

This is a high quality platform designed for professional use. The webcast software will allow you to webcast at various quality settings depending upon the type of audiences you have.
