Take a look at this venue checklist ! This checklist will aid in preparing for a high quality webcast.
Lighting needs to be good for webcasting (do not completely dim the room lights for the on-screen slides. The slides should still be visible with the lights dimmed only partially).
Provide a slide monitor in front of the podium to avoid speakers turning away from the camera to look at the screen to check what slide they are on.
Ask presenters to speak about 3 or 4 inches from the microphone. They should not "eat" the mic, nor should they go "off mic."
Arrange for contrasting colours. Dark suits against a black background will produce "floating" heads.
Do not ignore the webcast audience. Acknowledge and welcome webcast viewers and encourage them to participate. Take one or two questions from the webcast audience early on, so they know they are engaged.
