Most government offices use PCs and have Windows Media (WM) Player installed. As a result, we recommend WM for internal government webcasts. All other webcasts can use Flash.
Media Player Market Penetration
Nobody really knows how many computers are using different media players. A recent study by Adobe, owners of Flash, not surprisingly put themselves way ahead of the rest. Despite the source, the figures are probably fairly accurate. They take into account all types of operating systems and computers.
Adobe Study:
99% Flash
75% Windows Media Player
64% Apple Quicktime
44% Real Player
FLASH
You can have your live webcast transmitted in Flash for universal access
Flash webcasting works on all browsers and all types of computers.
